what's my age again?
Choose age appropriate material, while you may have been playing the mom or grandpa in high school, you should not sing those pieces or do monologues from those shows in which you are those characters.
Have confidence in the pieces you’ve chosen.
Rehearse your pieces over and over and over! And then when you think you're finished, rehearse them again.
Unless specifically asked, it’s best to not sing a song from the show for which you are auditioning.
Arrive early so you don’t feel rushed. Remember, on time is late.
Be professional. ALWAYS.
know your audience
Before your audition learn as much as you can about the audition company, the show, the directors, the school, the professors.
dress for success
Dress appropriately for the audition. You don’t need to come in costume for the show, but dress professionally and in shoes which you can walk.
Most importantly, go into the audition and be yourself. Don’t be anyone else but you.
right tools for the job
Just like any other profession, having the right tools and equipment can make all the difference in your audition much less your performance. Check out my Pinterest page for a carefully curated list to add to your toolbox!
