seven things you can do when you're a theatre kid and you're quarantined
Break up your computer time. I realize you're doing all of your school work online now, but take a break from your computer, iPad or phone. You're spending a LOT more time online than usual right now.
Stay connected with your friends. FaceTime them ....maybe FaceTime and do a workout together or take a walk over FaceTime, read a play together over FaceTime. stay engaged with your group.
Read a play or a book. You know that list of plays you've been wanting to read or those books sitting on your shelf you'll "get to"? This is a perfect time to pick one up! Spend fifteen minutes reading each day or more if you can!
Take up a new activity or a craft. Learn to cook, or bake or craft or sew or draw. It doesn't have to be perfect, just give it a shot! However, talk about a PERFECT time to work on those special skills for your resume! :)
Exercise or dance. All of the sitting and working on your computer or watching TV can make you feel even more anxious and antsy. Try moving around every hour for a few minutes....set your alarm. It will prompt you to get up and move! Take an online dance class (so many instructors are offering them for free right now). Look up an exercise routine online to follow. You can always take a walk outside. Fresh air is SO good for you!
Clean/Organize. Maybe you need to clean your room or organize your closet. Organize the space you do your school work, it will help you think clearly. Also, organize your audition book. Check out my blog post for tips. How to Prepare Your Audition Book
Work on your craft. Continue to work on your voice material or monologues. You can start college audition prep if you're a junior. This is the PERFECT time to begin researching colleges! Schedule a free consult with me to discuss college prep OR a 30 minute coaching session! Let's work!
